Caretaker/Handyperson

We are seeking a committed and experienced caretaker to join our premises and administration team. We are a welcoming, inclusive school community rated ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features by Ofsted, and are part of the highly regarded Samuel Ward Academy Trust.

  • Working arrangements: 7:00am-8:30am and 4:00-6:00pm, 5 days per week (average 17.5 hours per week during term time, with flexible working hours during school closure periods)

  • Salary: £8.36-£9.03 per hour (grade 3, below the mid-point bar)

  • Appointment: Permanent contract, 52 weeks per year (annual leave must be taken in school closure periods and booked in advance)

  • Closing date: Thursday 4th January 2018

  • Interviews: Wednesday 9th January 2018

  • Start date: Monday 19th February 2018

You will be required to:

  • Maintain the school premises, including site security and routine repairs and maintenance;

  • Perform a wide range of caretaking duties, working closely with the Senior Administrator;

  • Undertake cleaning tasks as agreed and required;

  • Support the Headteacher to ensure that the school is compliant with health and safety requirements on a day to day basis.
