Welcome to Art & Design
Why is Art and Design important?
At Laureate Community Academy, all of our teaching and learning builds on our core Reach Values; Respect, Enjoy, Aspire, Communicate and be Healthy. We believe in a high quality, diverse art and design curriculum which encourages all students to participate, develop their artistic skills and enjoy their creative abilities and develop as artist.
Art and Design is an integral part of all cultures and can provide opportunities to learn about diverse global issues and historical events that changed the world, resulting in different art and craft styles and traditions. Art instruction helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness and is an expressive outlet for creativity. It can also help students develop resistance, confidence and self esteem.
