We were extremely sad to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II yesterday afternoon, after a lifetime of service to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. She was the longest reigning monarch in our country’s history, and very few members of our school community will remember life without her as our Queen. At Laureate, we particularly remember her visit to Newmarket in 2016, when our children lined the streets and the red carpet to wave flags and watch her pass by; and our Platinum Jubilee street party last term, when we celebrated her 70th anniversary as our sovereign. We send our sincere condolences to the Royal Family, and our good wishes to His Majesty King Charles III as he begins his reign.
